Lucas Empanadas & Bakery was born long before it became a business.
Our story began in 2016, when René and Vanesa were living in Canada. Back then, Vanesa would prepare empanadas for friends, family gatherings, and special celebrations. Every time someone tasted them, the response was always the same:

What started as a shared passion in the kitchen gradually grew into a dream.
Vanesa never attended culinary school. Her cooking comes from the heart, inspired by family traditions and cherished childhood memories with her mother, who taught her the value of homemade recipes, authentic flavors, and the joy of cooking for the people we love.
Years later, after settling in Southern California and welcoming Lucas into our family, we decided to believe in that dream and take the first step. We began by serving small events, birthdays, private gatherings, and weddings. Through hard work, dedication, and the support of our customers, we continued to grow, eventually bringing our empanadas to local markets, wineries, and events throughout the region.
Today, Lucas Empanadas & Bakery remains a family-owned business built on the same values that inspired its beginning: hard work, passion, quality, and tradition.
Every empanada, every alfajor, and every product that leaves our kitchen is crafted with the same care and love that inspired this journey from day one.
And this is only the beginning.
Our dream continues to grow as we share the flavors of our heritage with more families, more communities, and more homes, while always preserving the handmade tradition and authentic spirit that brought us here.
